Before we can start our Hong Kong Tour day 1, we have to check-in our luggage to our booked guest house in Tsim Sha Tsui. Here’s the direction from Hong Kong Airport to Tsim Sha Tsui.

We arrived at Mirador Mansion, where our guest house is located 30 minutes before check-in. The original plan was if ever we arrived early before check-in( I estimated 11:00 AM) we’re going to leave our luggage at the reception then proceed to our first trip to Golden Bauhinia Square by ferry then back to Victoria Harbour to visit Avenue of Stars, Clock Tower then look for nearby resto to eat lunch then back to guest house to check-in(2:00 PM).
Luckily they allowed us to check-in early. We changed our itinerary. We’re going to Victoria Peak by MTR and Bus(15).
Our Guest House in Tsim Sha Tsui
Mirador Mansion
Mirador Mansions on Nathan Rd of Tsim Sha Tsui is an extremely well-known building that has been frequented by travelers to Hong Kong for many many years. The building takes up the whole block width ways and is about 15 stories high, and was built back in the 70’s is my guess. For many years it has been home to several different independently run hostels, including the well known Cosmic Guest House.
It has a great location, being less than a five-minute walk to the all the attractions along Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour. It’s also very close to Kowloon Park and its right across the road from the new iSquare shopping complex. Temple St Night market is within walking distance too.
Tai Wah Guest House
The reception is located at Flat A8, 8/F. Flat B4, 7/F Mirador Mansion, NO.62 Nathan Road,, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, Hong Kong. At the reception you will confirm your booking by phone. After few minutes, a caretaker will assist you to your room.
To our surprised, the caretaker is a Kababayang Filipina. But we were more surprised because she was so aloof and don’t want to entertain our questions. I just don’t understand the gesture. Usually if you meet a Kababayan abroad, you will be greeted happily.
I found this guest house on Agoda. We booked a family room with 2 double beds. You can opt to book a room with a window with higher rate. But who needs windows? We probably just use the room for sleeping. We’ll spend most of our time outside exploring.
The room is small around 10-13 square meter. Can’t barely move around specially with luggage on the pathways between two beds and to the bathroom doors. We don’t really care as long as we have a place to stay and to rest after our Hong Kong tour.
