I don’t really have a lot of details about this restaurant. It’s on my list because of the restaurant’s location. It’s about 3 minutes walk away from our transient house at Mirador Mansion. The restaurant is located at No.11 Humphreys Avenue | G/F & 1/F, Tsim Sha Tsui.

I’m not really into Dim Sum but this is a better alternative than US based fast food around. Price is fair and taste is good.  The only problem is, menu is written in Chinese characters. We ordered based on pictures and price.

This is where we ate our first ever Hong Kong tour meal. Well except with McDonald’s when we were on the airport. This restaurant serves Hong Kong style noodles, rice noodles, congee and tea. Same reason why Hung Lee Restaurant is on my list is because of the location. Located at G/F, 2 Hau Fook St, Tsim Sha Tsui. Few blocks away from our transient house.

The restaurant opened its first restaurant in the Shoppes at Fair Lakes in Fairfax, VA in June of 1998. Since then, they have expanded to over 35 corporate owned and franchise locations. Just in case you missed eating pizza and already bored eating noodles; you can always opt changing your cuisine. Located at 12 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Kai Kee Restaurant

Traditional rice noodles and tea restaurant located at G/F, 15C Carnarvon Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Tsui Wah Restaurant (Carnarvon Road)

Tsui Wah Restaurant is a chain of tea restaurants (Cha Chaan Teng) owned by Tsui Wah Holdings Limited, headquartered in Hong Kong. As of 2020, the group has 57 branches in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and Singapore, of which possibly the best-known one is on Wellington Street near Lan Kwai Fong. The restaurants serve Hong Kong-style food.

Mr. Choi Cheung Po first opened TsuiWah Ice Dining Room (冰室), the predecessor of Tea Restaurant, in 1967 in Mong Kok. By the time of his retirement in 1989, the company had grown to seven branches, including the first one branded as TsuiWah Tea Restaurant, in San Po Kong, Kowloon.

Originally, the restaurant was intended for the use of construction workers, and the food was cheap and service efficient. As the business grew, it began to target more middle-class customers such as white-collar workers and tourists, while also increasing its prices, which are now above average for the segment. The company also targeted locations in Hong Kong’s central business districts, despite higher rents.

For marketing reasons, the company has made a concerted effort to appear in Hong Kong-made films such as Love in a Puff and Lan Kwai Fong, in order to establish Tsui Wah as a cultural icon of Hong Kong. (source: Wikipedia)
